The front and rear tin are different, front bieng the front of the car and rear bieng the rear of the car. on my 2110 and 1904 both fit fine including cyl. tin. it is a bitch sometimes to put in but it goes.

i had to cut the rear tin considerably to fit in the compartment. on the front tin i just used the stock dog house tin for the exit.

i have never tried to use any other tin, i dont think the 36 hp tin will work on either.

For my 44's i had to, been almost 18yrs here, if i remember beat the body a little on 1&2 side and at that time with the old weber kits they came with square air cleaners so i cut a little on the lip next to wehre the A/C would sit.

i put the stock engine compartment seal in but it doesnt fit to well but it is needed though.

it is just a tight fit, but it goes, just have to finagle it to get it in there.

have fun

i have had a 40hp, 1600, 1641, and 2007 in 36hp cars. the rear tin has to be cut. i leave a little extra and fold an edge down like it was originally using plyers, vise grips. you trim almost all of it off around the pully area. heater boxes do not fit. you have to put the engine in first and then put heater boxes on. if you are running a header with j tubes it isn't a problem.

the first time i put the 2007 in i put in in with the cylinder tin only, along with doghouse cooler and alt stand. i put shroud, breather lines etc on with engine in car. was easiest way to make sure every thing was going to fit.

to r&r engine is a little harder than late cars. i take the fan belt and rear of alt pulley off, remove the dist. to remove, pull engine back and hold up so alt pulley is over the top of rear apron. this gets the engine back far enough to get flywheel and clutch out of trans bell housing. let the front of engine drop on the floor jack, while still holding back of engine up, letting it tilt forward, then push floor jack/engine forward to clear apron so you can drop the back of the engine. putting engine in is the reverse, you have to lift back of engine up over the apron then lift it further up with floor jack. sort of a tricky manuver, but once you do it a couple times you get the hang of it.
