Mike , A 4.12 w/ 3.78, 206, 1.48, 1.14 will work fairly well at the strip and you can use some tall tires for freeway stuff. Its hard to

have the best of both worlds when you have a small motor. Your stock trans should work ok in the 1/4 now. Do you have to shift into 4th

before you get to the end or will it go through in 3rd? If it doesn`t them switch to a 3.88 and you should have a pretty good 3 gear 1/4

mile trans. Your small carbs and cam should keep the motor from bogging into the next gear. If you had even a 120 cam you would not

get away with this because the wide gear spacing would drop the cam out of its rpm range. I would save my money for an 82 crank. You

could then go to a little bigger heads /cam/carb/exhaust and run 13s all day long with 3 gears and drive home on the freeway with your

stock 4th. Check out the tech articals at cal-look.com Good luck,
